UNDERSTAND THE RECORD
The Calgary feed uses the City’s business licences dataset and its first-issued date. This helps separate recent licence records from an undifferentiated list of Calgary businesses. It is not a list of confirmed company incorporations or verified opening dates.
Calgary licences can include a trade name, licence category, status and business address. Available categories give agencies, suppliers and service providers a useful way to narrow a broad city search. Home-based addresses identified by the source are withheld.

Start with the 90-day snapshot, or narrow the explorer to a shorter window for more recent first-issued licences.
A web designer might research the business’s existing website. A supplier might check whether its licence category fits the products they sell.
Confirm relevance and your legal basis before making contact. A public licence is not consent to marketing. NewBiz Radar does not send outreach for you.
LOCAL LICENCES & FEDERAL RECORDS
Municipal licences and federal registrations describe different events. You can broaden your search to federal records in Alberta, but the federal dataset excludes provincially incorporated companies. Neither source is a complete list of every new business in the province.
Records are refreshed during deployment. Check the coverage page for source dates, available fields and limitations before using the list.
