The preview is free. Records are starting points for research, not guaranteed customers or permission to contact someone. Paid plans and the no-card trial are planned, and no payment starts without your choice. Your statutory rights remain protected.
This overview is a guide. The sections below contain the full policy.01The service and these terms
These terms describe the basis on which NewBiz Radar (“we”, “us” or “our”), based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, makes newbizradar.ca and its business explorer available. Contact us at business@newbizradar.ca. “You” means the person using the service or the business they are authorized to represent.
The service is intended for adults conducting lawful business research. You must have authority to act for any organization on whose behalf you use it. Please read these terms and our privacy policy. Do not use the service if you do not agree to the applicable terms. When accounts or purchases become available, we will present the applicable agreement for acceptance before activation or checkout.
Nothing here excludes mandatory statutory rights or our own legal responsibilities. If a provision cannot lawfully apply to you, it is limited to the extent necessary and the remaining provisions continue to apply.
02The current free preview
The public preview currently lets you search, filter and inspect selected business records without an account. The mobile preview also provides an on-device guest workspace for notes and visit outcomes. Guest notes are not backed up to an account; clearing browser or app storage may remove them. Map pins are source-provided locations, not confirmation that a business is open to visitors. U.S. source coverage is not connected yet. Account creation, customer sign-in, exports, trial activation, subscriptions and payment checkout are not available. You will not be charged for using the preview.
Roadmap features and proposed plans are descriptions of intended future services, not a promise that a particular feature or launch date is available. We may change the preview’s features or availability. Existing paid commitments, if introduced, will be governed by the terms accepted at purchase.
03What the records mean
NewBiz Radar is an independent research tool, not a government registry, legal verification service or source of guaranteed sales leads. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the government publishers. Records can be incomplete, duplicated across sources, outdated or incorrectly classified.
Federal coverage concerns active corporations governed by the Canada Business Corporations Act. Anniversary dates can reflect incorporation, amalgamation or continuance. Calgary and Edmonton records use first-issued or original licence dates; a licence date does not necessarily establish when a business began operating. Vancouver licence activity includes renewals. Separate provincial registries are not currently integrated.
The hosted preview uses snapshots, with collection dates and source limitations shown in the explorer. It is not a continuously updated feed. Verify details against the official source before relying on them, contacting a business or making a commercial decision. We do not promise complete national coverage, valid contact details, customer demand or any particular business result.
04Permitted and prohibited use
You may use the service for lawful business research, subject to these terms and any applicable source licence. When exports are enabled, the relevant plan will define their allowance. You are responsible for the way you use the records and for complying with privacy, anti-spam and other applicable laws.
- Do not use the service to harass, stalk, discriminate unlawfully, commit fraud, expose private home details or identify people for harmful purposes.
- Do not bypass access controls, quotas or security measures, use another person’s account without permission, or interfere with the service.
- Do not bulk-scrape the application in a way that disrupts it or circumvents the offered access limits. Use the government source directly where its licence and access terms allow.
- Do not misrepresent NewBiz Radar records as verified buying intent, contact consent or an official government endorsement.
A public business listing is not permission to send commercial messages. You must establish an appropriate legal basis for outreach, including consent where required, and meet identification and unsubscribe requirements that apply. We do not provide legal advice about your campaign or transfer consent from a publisher to you.
05The planned 3-day trial
The following is the proposed trial for the account release; it cannot be activated in the current preview. The intended offer is one trial per customer, lasting 72 hours from activation, with up to 100 CSV export rows in total. No credit card will be required and there will be no automatic paid conversion.
When the trial ends, access will return to the free Explorer plan unless you separately choose and purchase a paid plan. Reaching 100 trial export rows will stop additional trial exports; it will not trigger a charge. The final eligibility rules, start and end times, and export allowance will be displayed before activation. Do not create duplicate accounts to obtain repeated trials.
06Proposed pricing and export allowances
Proposed monthly prices are C$19 for Starter (500 export rows), C$39 for Growth (2,500 rows), and C$79 for Pro (10,000 rows). The planned free Explorer allowance is 25 rows per calendar month. These plans are not on sale yet.
All prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes and the complete recurring price will be displayed before purchase. No paid subscription or recurring charge begins without your affirmative purchase. We will not charge a card because a free trial expires.
A row means one record included in a completed export. A new export of the same record uses allowance again; a retry of the same export request does not use it twice. Proposed monthly allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month in UTC and do not accumulate. The trial allowance is a separate total for the 72-hour trial. Final plan details will explain the relationship between allowance resets and your billing date.
07Future billing, cancellation and refunds
Before paid subscriptions launch, checkout will state the billing interval, renewal date, total price, cancellation method and refund terms. Our intended monthly model renews until cancelled, with cancellation stopping the next renewal and access continuing through the period already paid for. A working cancellation route will be provided through billing settings or support before subscriptions are sold.
We intend to notify subscribers at least 30 days before a recurring price increase, with an opportunity to cancel before it applies. A change will not increase the price of a period already paid for. No refund restriction removes a right required by law. Contact us promptly about duplicate charges, billing errors or a service problem; approved refunds will be returned through the original payment method where possible.
This preview does not establish a paid billing relationship or promise a particular refund policy for a future purchase. The final purchase terms must be available for review and acceptance before any payment.
08Future accounts and service availability
If accounts launch, you will be responsible for accurate account details, safeguarding your sign-in credentials and activity you authorize. Report suspected unauthorized access promptly. We will not ask you to email a password or full card number.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, a security threat, unlawful activity or a material breach. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow a chance to resolve it. We may act immediately when delay could cause harm or violate the law.
Availability depends in part on hosting providers and data publishers. Maintenance, outages and source changes may interrupt the service. The free preview has no uptime guarantee. If a paid service is materially changed or discontinued later, applicable purchase terms and statutory remedies will govern.
09Our work and third-party data
NewBiz Radar retains its rights in its branding, original copy, interface and software, subject to third-party rights. You do not receive ownership of that material by using the service. Do not reproduce or sell our application as your own without permission.
Government datasets and other third-party material remain subject to their own licences and rights. We do not claim exclusive ownership of public records or restrict rights a source licence independently grants you. Preserve required attribution and notices when reusing source data. Source links are available with records and on the coverage page. An open-data licence does not necessarily resolve separate privacy rights concerning identifiable people.
10Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the free preview and third-party records are provided “as is” and “as available”, without a promise of uninterrupted service, complete accuracy, fitness for your particular use or commercial results. We do not exclude warranties or remedies that the law does not permit us to exclude.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or opportunities, arising from these terms or use of the service. Our aggregate liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of C$100 and the fees you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not waive applicable privacy obligations, mandatory consumer protections or your right to complain to a regulator.
11Applicable law, changes and contact
Subject to mandatory laws that apply to you, these terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts in Alberta, except where applicable law gives you a right to another forum. We do not require private arbitration or waive statutory remedies through these terms.
We will update the effective date when these terms change. Material changes affecting future paid services will be communicated in advance where required and will not retroactively remove rights already accrued. Where a change requires renewed acceptance or consent, we will obtain it.
